When one of Mayfair’s most iconic hotels set out to upgrade its wireless infrastructure, the challenge went beyond just guest connectivity.


The hotel needed a carrier-grade Wi-Fi network capable of supporting guests, staff, and voice systems, while integrating with its new IP-based Cisco telephony platform.

The existing dual-band Cisco 802.11a/bg network struggled to support the volume of guest devices and emerging real-time applications like Wi-Fi calling and VoIP. Poor handovers, congested 2.4GHz channels, and interference led to degraded performance across critical operations, including housekeeping, concierge, and point-of-sale systems.

The Challange

The hotel needed a complete redesign that would:

 

  • Deliver seamless, high-density coverage across guest suites, service corridors, and public areas.

  • Support Wi-Fi calling, video, and voice with low latency and high reliability.

  • Provide simple, secure guest access without compromising compliance.

  • Offer visibility, analytics, and service management within a unified platform.

With hundreds of mobile devices, Cisco handsets, and guest clients connecting simultaneously, stability and speed had to be uncompromising.

Our Approach

Cyber Ware designed and deployed a Guest Smart Wi-Fi solution built around Ruckus 802.11ac technology, providing adaptive antenna performance and advanced roaming support (802.11k/r/v).
The network design included:

including proactive monitoring, help desk, and bi-annual audits.
